vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Along with the individual seeds in our catalog, you will also
find many interesting collections.
Vegetables
Since childhood, we have been told to "Eat your vegetables." In fact, many
of us spent long hours sitting at the dinner table, our siblings long
departed, waiting for our parents to relent and let us leave without eating
our broccoli, carrots or Brussels sprouts. Funny how as the years pass we
come to relish those very same dishes. The garden is a wonderful place to
experience these varieties fresh, and grown organically you can eat them
from the earth or right off the vine. The garden is a wonderful way to
augment your diet with varieties you won't find in the supermarket.
Flowers
"Nobody sees a flower really, it is so small ~
we haven't time, and to see takes time,
like to have a friend takes time."
~ GEORGIA O'KEEFFE
Flowers are a blush of color that lighten the heart. They add beauty to the
garden and provide pollen for bees and insects. Their diversity of color,
shape and texture are never ending and will give you pleasure from the
earliest starts through the last bloom. Paint your garden and landscape with
their extraordinary color and various heights.
Herbs
For centuries, herbs have been gathered and cultivated for both culinary and
medicinal purposes. Sometimes the stems are used, sometimes the leaves, the
seeds, the flowers, or all four together. They have incredibly varied tastes
and smells, from the spiciness of licorice mint, to the sweetness of basil,
to the gentleness of chamomile. They are beautiful to grow, wonderful to
smell, and a great addition to the kitchen whether direct from the garden or
windowbox.
